What is NightLase Treatment?
NightLase is a fast, patient-friendly and practically noninvasive treatment for snoring. It reduces snoring intensity with a gentle laser light treatment. It also can be used to help treat sleep apnea for patients who don’t tolerate CPAP or oral devices.
The Er:YAG laser employed for NightLase is specially designed for a type of shallow tissue penetration that can resurface human skin without damaging it. This same laser is used in the cosmetic procedures LipLase® and Laser Facial Peel, which we also happily offer to our patients.
How Does Nightlase Treatment Work?
NightLase works by moderately heating the soft tissues in the throat. This stimulates collagen regeneration, which creates a toning effect, reducing the vibrations that cause snoring. The NightLase procedure is quick and comfortable, usually taking about 20–30 minutes. Thanks to the laser’s relatively low intensity, there is no burning or cutting. This means you can eat, drink, and talk normally as soon as your appointment is finished.
How Long Does NightLase Last?
NightLase is offered in a series of treatments, requiring three to five initial visits, depending upon individual patient factors. Following this starting treatment, you’ll come back for single annual treatments to maintain the benefits. Without those follow-up appointments, you can expect the initial Nightlase benefits to last around 12–24 months.
