What to Do Before Your Visit
1. Intake Paperwork
Fill out our online new patient paperwork prior to arrival, or arrive early to complete it in person at our front desk.
2. ID & Insurance Cards
Bring your official photo ID and provide front/back images of your dental insurance card prior to or upon arrival.
3. Confirmation & Special Care
Respond to our confirmation text message. Inform us in advance if you require antibiotic premedication or sedation support.
Your First Examination Protocol
Upon arrival, our front desk team will check you in. One of our clinical providers will then accompany you to your private suite for a thorough assessment:
We capture a head-and-shoulders picture to personalize your chart (and track growth for pediatric patients).
We thoroughly review your health background, sensitivities, and clinical goals together.
We record a high-precision, radiation-free 3D optical model of your teeth and occlusion.
We perform low-radiation digital X-rays followed by a comprehensive oral exam and professional cleaning.

A Diagnosis, Not a Sales Pitch
Your first visit is the most important appointment we will ever have together. Not because of what we do to your teeth that day, but because of what we learn. My rule in this practice is simple: we diagnose before we recommend anything. I want to know why something is the way it is, whether that is a tooth that hurts, gums that bleed, or snoring that is stealing your sleep, before anyone talks treatment.
That is why we take real images: a radiation-free iTero 3D scan, low-dose digital X-rays, and patient photographs. Then we put them up on the screen and walk through them together. You will see what I see. You will leave with answers and a plan, not a list of procedures.
If You Are Nervous, You Are in Good Company
Most of my new patients tell me they have been putting this visit off for years. There are no lectures here. If the dentist makes you nervous, tell us on the intake forms or when you arrive, and we will take it seriously. Comfort is built into the office: massage-equipped treatment chairs, personal entertainment, and sedation options including nitrous oxide and IV sedation.
And one more thing that matters more: you are in control. We move at your pace, we explain each step before we take it, and we stop if you need us to. My job is for you to leave thinking you should have come sooner, not that you survived the appointment.

01What should I bring to my first visit?↓
Bring a photo ID, and send us front and back images of your dental insurance card before or when you arrive.
02Do I need to fill out forms before I arrive?↓
You can complete our online new patient paperwork before your visit to speed up check-in, or arrive a few minutes early to fill it out at our front desk. Either way works.
03Will I get a cleaning at my first visit?↓
Your first visit centers on a comprehensive exam: we review your health history, take a 3D iTero scan and low-radiation digital X-rays, and examine your mouth thoroughly. A professional cleaning is included when your diagnosis calls for it.
04What if I have not seen a dentist in years?↓
You are not alone, and there are no lectures here. Many of our new patients put this off for years. Tell us your concerns on the intake forms or when you arrive, and we will move at your pace, starting with a full diagnosis before any treatment is discussed.
05Do you offer sedation if I am anxious?↓
Yes. We offer sedation options including nitrous oxide and IV sedation for patients with dental anxiety. Let us know in advance if you are nervous, and we will plan your visit around your comfort.
06What happens after my first visit?↓

Tribeca Dental Studio has served Lower Manhattan from 54 Warren Street since 2007. Our practice brings together general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery, and periodontics under one roof — so families don't need to travel between offices for different kinds of care.
Dr. Nina Izhaky leads our clinical team with a focus on airway health, dental implants, veneers, and pediatric dentistry. Our approach starts with diagnosis: we find out why a problem exists before recommending treatment. For snoring and sleep apnea, that means identifying the cause — whether it's nasal obstruction, jaw position, or soft tissue — rather than defaulting to a single device or procedure.
We use 3D CBCT imaging, digital planning, and laser dentistry including NightLase for snoring and LANAP for gum disease. Our Biolase laser means most cavities can be treated with no needles, no drill sounds, and no numbness — patients return to work or school right after their visit.
For patients without insurance, our dental plan is $70 per month (normally $100), covering preventive care, exams, and routine visits with no insurance company in the middle. We are located at 54 Warren St, New York, NY 10007, serving Tribeca, SoHo, Battery Park City, the Financial District, and surrounding downtown neighborhoods.
